Ep 135: Lenten Crown of Thorns Activity

About Playfully Faithful Parenting:

Are you a Christian mama who wants your kids to fall in love with Jesus? Me too, friend! I’m Joy Wendling: friend of Jesus, wife, seminary grad, and Children’s and Family Minister turned Stay-at-Home Mom to 5 girls. Join me as we explore our calling to introduce our kids to Jesus and watch as the Holy Spirit transforms their lives. We call this privilege Spiritual Parenting or Christian Parenting. Every day God wants to partner with us as he pursues a relationship with our kids. And, because research shows God created our kids to learn best through play, we might just have a little bit of fun while we are at it.

You can do it, mama!

Episode Summary:

This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Lenten season. Lent is a somber season when we prepare our hearts for the death and resurrection of Jesus. But somber does not have to mean we can’t be playful as we teach our kids the significance of the season. in this episode I invited my friend and fellow Connected Families Certified Parent Coach, Katie Wetzel, to share a playful yet deeply significant activity that she does with her family during Lent.

Love:

Jesus loves us so much that he was the final sacrifice needed for our sins.

Teach:

We can bring our sin to Jesus.

Play:

Make your own Lenten crown of thorns.
